CELL BANKING : Cryo-preservation

  • Proliferating and culturing of cells obtained from biopsy samples.

  • Cryopreservation of living cells for 3 years.

  • Additional fees for each consecutive years after initial 3 years.

We can preserve living cells of your companion for future use.

Prepare ahead of time by using our cell-banking service.

PHASE

1

Obtain the biopsy sample of the skin or muscle from the pet and grow the cells through a special treatment. After a while the somatic cells will attach to the bottom of the petri dish and start to grow. These can be used to establish a cell line.

PRIMARY CULTURE

PHASE

2

To obtain enough cells for the cloning process, allowing the cells to grow until they cover the floor of the petri dish and once 100% confluency is achieved, then we transfer the somatic cells into a new petri dish and continue to culture them.

SUB-CULTURE

PHASE

3

After obtaining enough cells through sub-culturing, the cells are treated with cryo-protectant and cryo-preserved in liquid nitrogen. They are thawed and cultured before being used for the cloning process.

CRYO-PRESERVATION

PHASE

4

It takes around 2~4 weeks to obtain sufficient number of cells for cryo-preservation.
